Pinot Noir
Craig’s Reserve 2018
Craig’s Reserve Pinot Noir symbolizes the fraternal relationship of the winery’s two founders, Benjamin and Craig Stapleton.
Details:
Variety:
Pinot Noir 100%
A combination of more modern hardier clones with harder skins and higher tannin content, balanced by a proportion of traditional thin-skinned clones with lower tannin content.
Vinohrad:
Terrace area, Blue Mountains – Bořetice, 250 m above sea level, planted in 2008-2009… . The soil consists of sandy clay overlying mostly limestone.
Production:
The grapes were fermented in open vats for approximately 22 days and then gently pressed. The wine was aged for a minimum of 14 months in French oak barrels made by François Frères and then in bottle. It is unfiltered and unfined.
TASTING NOTES:
The wine is elegant, delicate and beautifully fruity. The colour is darker with garnet highlights, but still typical of Pinot Noir. The aroma is dominated by cherry or stone fruit. The palate is refined, slightly more expressive than the 2017 vintage. It follows the tradition of Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The finish is full, fruity with very ripe tannins and a long aftertaste. The wine needs time to open up and show its quality. It is worth tasting the following days after opening as well.
This is a great wine that is sure to please any Pinot Noir lover!

Veal, lamb shank, roast duck or mushroom dishes
