Pinot Noir
Ben’s Reserve – 2017
Our first wine to be chosen by Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe
A balanced combination of old Burgundy clones with thin skins and new clones with harder skins and higher tannin content.
Details:
Variety:
Pinot Noir 100%
Balanced combination of old Burgundy clones with thin skin and new clones with harder skin and with a higher tannin content.
Vinohrad:
Terrace area, Blue Mountains – Bořetice, 250 m above sea level, planted in 2008-2009. The soil consists of sandy clay overlying mostly limestone.
Production:
The grapes were fermented in open vats for approximately 20 days and then gently pressed. The wine was aged 12 months in François Frères French oak barrels and then in bottle. It is unfined and unfiltered
TASTING NOTES:
The wine is elegant, delicate and beautifully fruity. The colour is ruby with garnet highlights. The aroma is dominated by cherry and stone fruit. The taste is refined, reminiscent of traditional Pinot Noir from Burgundy. The finish is medium-bodied, fruity with lower ripe tannins and a long aftertaste
The wine needs time to fully open up its potential, and we recommend letting the wine breath before drinking. It is worth tasting the following days after opening as well.
This is a great wine in excellent condition that will delight many Pinot Noir lovers!
FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS:
Veal, lamb shank, roast duck or mushroom dishes
